I just love it when I see God’s inspiration in my thoughts and His prompting in whatever I’m doing! It just thrills me all the way down to my toes and makes me feel so special that he would communicate with me! How about you, do you get excited at God’s inspiration in your thoughts? Isn’t it amazing?
Well, if you’re not sure about this, here’s how God prompted and inspired me this morning:
As I made my first morning cup of coffee, I shot a few photos of the beautiful new mug my daughter brought me from Washington DC. As this mug is particularly meaningful to me, I had a brainstorm to make a meme about beautiful, meaningful gifts.
So, I finish the photos and sit down with my coffee to read my devotional verse of the day, and bam! – right then, God talks to me!
Here I am preparing to do a meme about meaningful gifts, and I discover that my devotional verse today is about good gifts! Yes! Here’s what that verse says:
If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Luke 11:13
Wow! Coincidence? Hmmm…I don’t think so and I’m totally drawn in!
So, I click the Scripture link and Biblegateway.com brings up Luke 11 which turns out to be about prayer and asking the Father for whatever we need. And further, that if we ask, we will receive. And that if we who are evil (or imperfect) know how to give good gifts to our children, then how much more will our Heavenly Father give (the gift of) the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?
After reading these verses, I feel pretty certain that God would like me to write about the beautiful gift of the Holy Spirit. He confirms this by giving me a sweet excitement and total peace in my spirit about it.
Oh, thank you, God, for starting the day with me, for talking to me and giving me your inspiration.
I feel lucky, I feel blessed, and I am most thankful that God has given me his gift of the Holy Spirit, to hear his voice, to see his inspiration, and to lead me where he wants me to go, doing what he wants me to do. And I am thankful, once again, that I made the conscious decision to love and follow God and try to do what he wants me to do.
You can have the gift of the Holy Spirit too ❤
Watch for my next post as I continue to follow God’s prompting and write about this magnificent gift! Here is the intro Scripture to get you started:
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
Blessings and joy to you,
