A Soothing Masterpiece

This morning as I reflect on life, I realize anew how my attitude affects my spirit.

Life has held many challenges, much heartache, as well as successes for me and for my family. This year has been particularly challenging for me. Now, this week my family has seen one member have successful kidney surgery, one member have successful eye surgery, one member have a scary biopsy come back benign, as well as several smaller issues weathered.

I have driven nearly 1,000 miles back and forth the last few days and as I wearily drove the last 200 home last night, God slowly painted a soothing masterpiece across the sky to help put things in perspective once again.

It is well with my soul.

No matter what life has given me through the years, God has been with me.

No matter what is to come in the future, God will be with me.

It is when I am at my weakest that He is strong, and when I can’t do it on my own, that is when He does His best work. I will rest in the peace of this knowing, in my head and in my heart, and in His loving care of me.

Yes, it is well with my soul.

Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For the Lord your God is the one who will go with you; he will not leave you or abandon you. Deut. 31:6 (CSB)

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT)

Is it well with your soul? What will it take for you to rest, through your ups and downs, in this same peace, of knowing God is with you and will never leave you? Because, Beloved, He is with you, and He will never leave you, just as the Scripture above says. You can believe that. You can believe and trust in God’s Words, written in the Holy Bible for each of us to read and place into our hearts, and to live our lives by.

Consider the words of this beautiful song, performed here by Lauren Daigle. No matter where you are, no matter how dark or far, God will hear your S.O.S. He will be there with you – He will rescue you! Hold on to that, Beloved, and rest in His peace.
